Ryder System Material Follow Up Coordinator (JIT) in WENTZVILLE, Missouri

A Material Follow-Up Coordinator (MFU) will be responsible for operational functions, auditing and tracking parts, calling on different carriers and suppliers to make sure shipments are coming in on time. The MFU will provide top of the line customer service to clients internally and externally while being able to handle difficult conversations. Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access); experience working with SAP is a plus.

General Duties:

• Set-up/Order/Manage indirect material inventory

• Coordinate indirect shipping/receiving/crib attendant tasks

• Daily Cycle Count Analysis and Posting

• Bulk Material Order Processing

• Verify Bulk Chemical Receiving Paperwork

• Processing of Monthly Summary Billings

• Monthly Financial Reporting

• Review and Process Purchase Orders/Shopping Carts

• Process and Track Coding Requests

• Overdue Purchase Order Follow-up and Resolution

• Overdue Purchase Requisitions Follow-up and Resolution

• Support Weekly Metric Reviews

• CSA's (Control Self-Assessment) as assigned

• Research Duplicate Payments

• Sort/Distribute Incoming Mail for Material Department

• Follows work procedures, work schedules, and expedites workflow.

• Monitors and maintains GMS standards

• Supports BPD / Scorecard achievement

• Internal Controls compliance for their function

• Promotes, educates, communicates and follows up on safety initiatives

• Maintains housekeeping in area

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • One (1) year or more of administrative experience preferred

  • Five (5) years or more relevant experience strongly recommended

  • MGO -GM's MRP system (intermediate level) preferred

  • Transportation management (intermediate level) preferred

  • Material flow as it relates to manufacturing processes (intermediate level) preferred


  • Follow-up all purchased parts to ensure shipment and on-time delivery performance to support production requirements

  • Serve as main point of contact for all suppliers; provide direction to suppliers regarding ship schedule requirements and containment plan when behind schedule; includes decision making on timing for supplier ship schedules - allowing them to push material out, pull ahead, and expedite material as needed, based on inventory coverage at plant

  • Track critical parts and develop/execute containment plan to ensure no interruptions or down time to manufacturing line, inclusive of decision making on mode and required delivery window to ensure continuity of production

  • Coordinate and/or arrange for alternative sources of material, requests for spot buys, if necessary (SPO and other GM Plants); independent monitoring, set-up, and cancellation of truck loads for material pick-up, as necessary to support schedule variations; ensure proper material coverage at lowest possible cost for customer

  • Review part buffers to determine that they cover build requirements(metal centers and powertrain); document and manage S and AV code exceptions (assembly plants), including alarm interval maintenancel determine root-cause and take appropriate actionMGO data maintenance; maintain accurate inventory levels in MGO, making appropriate adjustments where necessary; make judgments on posting inventory adjustments based on investigation and analysis; and investigate and process any record adjustment requests from the previous shift

  • Perform other duties as assigned
