Ryder System Customer Logistics Coordinator in Tiffin, Ohio

Position Description

The Customer Logistics Coordinator will be typically dedicated to an assigned area of responsibility within an account or location. The incumbent ensures that productivity and operational goals are met in order to deliver customer satisfaction. Individual will be working in a dynamic environment that focuses on delivering continuous measurable improvement to the customer.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Freight bill audit review

  • Handle front line customer requests; identify and elevate any customer issues, if needed

  • Act as a liaison between client, carriers and suppliers

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reporting to manager pior to distribution

  • Route Management, Design and Contracting - Provide routing nstructions for outbound, inbound and international shipments

  • Track and trace all mode routes and shipments

  • Inform plant and supplier of all routing changes, delays, deviations and work to secure alternate plans to support production needs

  • Assisting MP&L Department with receiving and shipping documents and retention

  • Manage supplier compliance regarding carrier routings and window compliance

  • Schedule warehouse moves and storage trailer arrangements

  • Perform inventory Cycle counts as needed

  • Assist in layout and optimization for plant warehousing and product flow

  • Identify and Implement Savings Opportunities

  • Plan requirements and routes as needed due to holidays,downtime, or overtime and communicate requirements to carrier base and suppliers as needed

  • Create and update processes packaging – data collection and recommendations. Maintenance of PFEP (plan for every part)

  • Location-specific requirements may be required

  • Other duties, as assigned

Position requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required

  • One to three (1-3) years experience in warehouse, transportation, logistics or distribution environment

  • Experience in a customer service environment with the ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors)

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment

  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills

  • Detailed oriented with excellent follow-up practices

  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish desirable

  • Ability to prioritize, organize and accomplish assigned work

  • Knowledge of/experience in transportation, warehouse or distribution environment (e.g. shipping, receiving, inventory management,distribution or dispatch preferred)

  • Knowledge of warehouse and/or software applications, routing and dispatch software applications preferred

  • Understanding of DOT, OSHA, and all other relatedsafety regulations strongly preferred

  • Proficient with MS Office suite primarily with Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Word

  • May be required to stand and walk for long periods of time

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-3 Years of experience in a transportation, warehouse or distribution environment preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Preferred

  • Knowledge/Experience in transportation environment, (i.e.: Shipping, receiving and inventory management, distribution or dispatch preferred.)

  • Knowledge of warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems preferred

  • Understanding of DOT, OSHA, and all related safety regulations strongly preferred
