Ryder System Senior Logistics Engineer in FORT WORTH, Texas

Position Description

The Senior Logistics Engineer will be responsible for analysis and utilization of continuous improvement tools to design Supply Chain Solutions in current and future Distribution Management operations.

Responsibilities :

-Find creative solutions to increase operating margin, efficiency and reduce waste.

-Utilize autoCAD to design facilities

-Analyze data and present to cross functional teams

-Apply Lean Six Sigma methods

-Recommends and implements continuous improvement efforts

Requirements :

-Must be bi-lingual in Spanish

-Must be willing and able to travel to Mexico

- Must have Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics or related field

-5 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain or Distribution environment

-Strong technical skills using autoCAD, Excel, VBA, SQL, Access

Requirements

  • Master's degree in industrial or logistics engineering or related engineering field

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in the job or related engineering position using MS Visio, Excel, VBA and MS Access and leading Kaizen implementation and resource optimization

Alternate Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial or logistics engineering or related engineering field

  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in the job or related engineering position using MS Visio, Excel, VBA and MS Access and leading Kaizen implementation and resource optimization

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and utilize continuous improvement tools to design supply chain solutions for current and future operations using knowledge of supply chain strategy

  • Determine efficient utilization of resources by analyzing driver and equipment utilization charts and routing structures

  • Route planning, scheduling and resource optimization requirements for all inbound transportation operations

  • Facilitate tactical routing and scheduling of transportation resources within operating constraints like delivery schedules, DOT regulations and workload balancing for carriers

  • Assist operations managers to implement efficient and competitive solutions

  • Lead Kaizen process implementation

  • Develop reports to be deployed in SQL reporting services

  • Support development of new SQL database tables and views for .Net applications and for reporting of account specific applications

  • Enhance .Net applications by creating new modules to improve data management and processes

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Visio, Excel, VBA and MS Access
